About Defqon.1

Defqon.1 is a Dutch dance festival organized by Q-dance.

Since 2011, the festival has been held at the event site in Biddinghuizen, near Walibi Holland in Flevoland. From 2003 to 2010, the event was held at the Almeerderstrand. Since 2013, Defqon.1 has changed into a weekend festival, with a campsite set up next to the festival site every year. This popular event is organized by Q-dance. The name Defqon.1 is inspired by the American military term DEFCON, where DEFCON 1 indicates the highest state of readiness. In the Netherlands, this corresponds to GRIP Rijk.
